Why does your company need corporate eyecare?

In 1992 Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations were introduced to improve conditions for all employees who work with Visual Display Units (VDUs) and who require safety glasses.

What does this mean for your company?

The welfare of your employees’ eyesight is your company’s responsibility. Your company is obliged to provide the following for employees who regularly use VDU screens at work:

• A full eye examination from a qualified Optometrist

• Subsequent eye examinations at regular intervals as specified by the examining Optometrist (normally every 2 years)

• Basic VDU glasses (this could mean single vision, bifocal or varifocal glasses) if they are found necessary for VDU work and / or

• Basic safety glasses (this could mean single vision, bifocal or varifocal glasses) if they were found necessary for work undertaken.

If you would like to discuss the scheme or need further information, then please contact us on 0115 959 1279 or email us at employee.eyecare@boots.co.uk
